Saturday was a wet and miserable day but we had just over 40 players playing in the Whisky Day Monthly Medal & Order of Merit Competition. We had two prize holes of nearest the pins on holes 6 and 7, and the closest players receiving a bottle of Glenfiddich were Jon Bodicoat and Darren Forsyth.
This was the 3rd of 10 Nippon Gases Europe Order of Merit events and the league tables show the following,
Gross Order of Merit - Jon Bodicoat (20pts), Ian Still (19), Craig Wilkinson (18), Andrew Carle (13), Andrew Finlay (11).
Net Order of Merit - Jon Bodicoat (19pts), Stuart Robson (10), Scott Horne (10), Ross McGregor (9), George Ross (9).
On Sunday we had over 130 players competing in the World Whisky Day Stableford Open, with a number of visitors playing and also passing on kind comments about our course.
The results were - Division 1 - 1st-Barry McIntosh (40pts), 2nd-Anthony Williamson (40pts), 3rd-Scott Riley (39pts), 4th-Jordan Flett (38pts). Division 2 - 1st-Tommy Duncan(41pts), 2nd-Kevin Geddes (39pts), 3rd-Grant Turnbull (39pts), 4th-Sandy Innes (38pts). Division 3 - Russell Robertson (41pts), 2nd-William Ramsay (39pts), 3rd-Donald Cruickshank (39pts), 4th-Jamie Dunn (38pts). Ladies 1st-Debbie Milne (34pts), 2nd-Jorien Terpstra-Kleijwegt (32pts).
Vouchers will be sent to home club for all the above players.
The prize holes were won by the following and your bottles are awaiting collection at the golf office. Nearest the Pin (hole 2) Gerald Forbes, (hole 6) Gary Birnie, (hole 7) Anthony Williamson, (hole 10-gents) Pete McLeod, (hole 10-ladies) Debbie Milne, (hole 12) Jordan Flett, Longest Drive (hole 4) Jordan Flett.

Also on Sunday we had a team playing away at Brechin in the Annodata Matchplay National Competition and a fine 3-2 result was recorded. The match results were Ian Still lost 4and3, Derek Walker won 2and1, Phil McBain won 1up, Craig Wilkinson won 4and3, and Stuart Milne lost 4and3. Huge congratulations to the team travelling away and scoring a good victory, here's hoping for a home draw in the next round.
