Saturday 16th January Competition - 9 Holes Only

Saturday will be a 9 hole stableford competition only, played on the Winter Greens. Unfortunately the back 9 has too many frozen icy areas to allow play with holes 10, 12 and 15 the worst affected.

So a sweep will be run played over holes 1 to 8 and 18, with number 18 shortened. We will run the normal 3 divisional sections. Buggies will only be allowed for those with medical exemption as there are some soft wet areas where the ground is still rock solid below the surface and the melted ice has nowhere to go.

There are still one or two icy areas with number 8 the worst one, so care is required when playing.

Because of the busy tee sheet it is unlikely that you will be able to have a second 9 as there is just not enough space at the moment - this may change with the overnight forecast.

We had a number of people playing today as it was nice overhead and everyone was desperate to get out and have a swing of a golf club again, or maybe it was because the partners were more desperate to get the golfers out of the house!!!
