North East District Senior Championships at Craibstone

The North East Senior Championship took place at Crabstone this past Friday, 25th July. There was a low turn out which is hard to understand considering all the seniors that play in the North East and a sponsor was prepared to put the prize money up. However, the ones who played had glorious weather for the event and the main scratch winner was Bill Methven from Royal Aberdeen with a 1 over par 70. Bill is pictured getting his trophy from Jim Hunter N.E District President.
Bill was full of praise for the Craibstone course and even went as far as to say it was the best greens he had putted on this year. Praise indeed from a Royal Aberdeen member.
1st Hdcp was Rod Duff Kintore with 79-13-66 who also won the longest drive on the 4th and a bottle of Jack Nicklaus private reserve red wine.
Marshall Leisure and Craibstone will continue to sponsor the event for the next 2 years so hopefully we will get more of The North East Seniors to attend.
