Congratulations to Andrew Ashley who defeated Ian Still in the Scratch Cup Final by 2 holes to 1. Being 1 down at 10, Andrew then birdied 11 and 12 and won 13 to go 2 up, a margin that he held onto, before securing victory with a half on 17.
In the handicap cup final Sean Mathers came out on top against Kenny Burns by 3 holes to 2. Sean went 4 up around the turn, and although Kenny came back to trail by 2, Sean holed a big putt to secure 13, then Kenny bounced back winning 14, only to go dormie 3 down by losing the 15. A half on 16 was good enough for Sean to close out the match.
It was blustery conditions with a strong wind making it hard for both finals. Commiserations to the losing finalists Ian Still and Kenny Burns.
