A busy Masters Weekend at Craibstone, on friday night we had our annual Masters Par 3 shoot out with Simon Downing being victorious over Craig Wilkinson in the final head to head shoot out.
On Saturday we had our second round of the Masters Flag Competition and also the first of ten events in the Nippon Gases Order of Merit.
The total to beat so far is 137 recorded by Scott Anderson, then its 138 with Keith Legge and on 139 its Jon Bodicoat, Mark McDonald, Scott Williamson and George Breen. The Masters Flag is a best 2 rounds out of 4 rounds with the third round taking place this coming Saturday.
In the Nippon Gases Order of Merit, Jon Bodicoat had a great round scoring gross 69 which seen him pick up 10 points in both the gross and net order of merit awards. The list of the persons picking up order of merit points will be displayed on the noticeboard, but in second place in the gross section was Ian Still and in the net Ross mcGregor picked up the 9 points.
On Sunday I'm sure everyone enjoyed the conclusion of the Masters at Augusta and the winners in our masters sweep was Colin Hay who had Tiger Woods. Second place prize money is shared by Kenny Milne, Ken Cocker and Ron Bain.
Also on Sunday we had two of our Juniors out playing in the first competition of the season, maybe at the end of the school holidays and clashing with football and golf on tv was not the best day, but Rio Greig got his first full 18 holes under his belt and Mika Askildssen had his first game at Craibstone for nearly a year and recorded a great 3 on the 12th as his highlight of the round. We have a keen bunch of juniors and hopefully the next competition this coming Sunday will see a few more managing to play.
