Joe Harper Charity Golf Day 2014.

The Joe Harper Charity Golf Day 2014 took place on the 24th Aug and was deemed a great success by all. The good weather and 22 teams took part in the Texas Scramble format with most teams having an ex AFC player in every.team.
There were various sponsors on the day with even £10,000 up for grabs on the 7th hole for a "Hole in One." Although no players achieved, this one player Willie Beattie did strike the pin and landed 2ins from the hole...Hard luck Willie!!.
With donations, auctions and raffles, the estimate is that we will pass last years total raised and after the barbecue and a few refreshments the golf results were as follows:
1st Place --- Team Fyfe Moir Associates Alan Moir, Colin Davidson,John Moir and Andrew McLure. 57 - 3.9 - nett 53.1
Runners Up --Jeff King Team Montrose Jeff King , Gavin Hemsley, Wayne Henderson and Drew Jarvie. 55-1.7 nett 53.3
Many thanks to all who took part and to all the sponsors of teams and individuals who donated or bought AND brought auction prizes.
The idea is to raise money for local charities and Agnes Marshall was on hand to make the draw for 2 charities and this year these were Charlies House Aberdeen and the AFC Community Trust.
