On Sunday a Craibstone team travelled to Pitlochry to play Strathtay Golf Club in the Annodata National Match play competition, unfortunately the home team took full advantage of their own course and ran out 5-0 victors. The Craibstone team of Gerald Forbes, David Allan, Lee Mathieson, Derek Cruickshank and Jamie Evans put up a spirited performance but the endless climbs to reach tees and greens took their toll in the end. A quirky 9 hole course that had two different teeing points meant it was a challenge knowing what to play or more importantly what clubs to take as the trolleys struggled to reach the high points. One good thing was the views that you seen over all of Perthshire as you waited to get your breath back after yet other climb. Our hosts looked after us well, and its easy to see why they have an unbeaten record going back nearly ten years on this course.
